Mays Dance Company offers 2/3 hours of intense weekly training.
Can’t commit to 2/3 hours per week?
Mays foundation training!
We have created Mays Foundation Training as an option for dancers who may not be able to make full time training, dancers who may not feel ready for full time training or dancers who we feel need a little extra training before joining our company.
Mays Foundation training will run on Friday evenings for 1 hour.
Mays Junior Foundation - Friday 5:15-6:15pm
8-12 years
Mays Senior Foundation - Friday 7:15-8:15pm
13+ years
You will train with our Company dancers.
You will audition the same as the rest of our company members, if you could please select the Mays Foundation training option on the application when applying that would be fantastic!
We want to give as many dancers we can a chance, we see the audition as an opportunity for you to grow, learn and understand the industry as early on as possible. We are so excited to see everyone come together and show the panel what we are all passionate about which is the LOVE of dance and performing arts!

Audition Details
What To Expect
At the first round dancers take part in a jazz class to assess endurance, alignment and technical awareness. There are then two choreography sections; contemporary and commercial where dancers are marked on comprehension, movement quality and performance.
At the recall dancers take part in a technical class and learn a jazz routine.
Additional Info
In order to audition we ask that you have one year's experience in any dance style, We ask that you have or are willing to take weekly Ballet lessons in addition to joining the company. Above all else our team look for natural talent paired with warmth, maturity and a willingness to learn.
We are experienced identifying natural ability despite a lack of formal training, and so limited experience, technical or otherwise, should not deter you from auditioning.
If at any stage you are unsuccessful we are able to provide feedback. Finally, we ask that dancers audition for the company no more than once every 6 months.
If you are successful, company classes will be held:
Friday: Junior 5:15-6:15pm Senior 7:15-8:15pm
Saturday: all 3-4/5pm depending on rehearsal times NR14 area.
